I sketch out the drawing with pencil and paper, then I scan it in and make a digital vector version using Adobe Illustrator. When I'm happy with it, I send the vector to a printing company who prints it on acrylic and cuts it out. They send the prints to me and then I assemble them into keychains using needle nose pliers and split ring pliers.
It's made out of an acrylic (plastic). You could also try making things out of Sculpey clay!
